After each session with Tom I feel like I have really worked out and that is what is important to me, along with the results that he has clearly been a huge part of making sure I achieve.”
I have been a member of a gym for several years and previously had personal training to reach my goals. I stopped personal training 3 years ago thinking I could carry on without the support, and indeed did so for a while. However in Autumn 2008 I felt I was getting into a rut, I had put a little bit of weight back on and my jeans were getting that little bit tighter. I needed something to give me a kick start and so signed up for personal training again.
I was allocated Tom and he has been an excellent Personal Trainer. Right from the start he asked me what I wanted to achieve and what I preferred doing. I wanted to concentrate on losing the flab round my middle and generally toning up and he has ensured these are the areas I have concentrated on.
I have found Tom to be really motivating and he has asked me each week which classes I have done the previous week and which I am planning to do over the following week. He also suggested keeping a “food diary”, which helped me initially to monitor what I was eating and to be able to see where I could make improvements in my diet. He has made sure the sessions with him are really enjoyable and concentrate on areas of my training that might not be covered by going to the classes.
One example of this is the boxing workout that he makes sure is tagged on to the end of every session (again my choice). I really enjoy these, but would never use the boxing bag in the main gym on my own.
Tom has done a number of different free weight and core-work exercises with me and over the months I have found my fitness to be im- proving. Tom keeps a record of the weights that I have been using and I have been able to increase these little by little. I also feel that my body shape has been chang- ing for the better. I have lost centimetres round my waist and also my weight has decreased by at least 5 kilos.
